Would you like to volunteer but you don't know what to do? Taking our dogs for walks is one of the most fun and easiest ways to volunteer! We will provide everything you need, a leash, treats, toys and even the dog! We have several fenced in yards where you can walk them around or even take them off leash to let them run play. This is also a great way to enjoy the companionship of animals when you are not allowed to have one where you live so come on down today and have fun with our resident pups!

Most of the stray dogs that come into our shelter either only know one or two commands or, unfortunately, none at all. The staff at the Trinity County Animal Shelter tries their best to provide training, correction and positive reinforcement for our dogs here. To praise good behavior, to help with any timid dog who may have had bad experiences with humans in their past or to teach them new tricks that they don't know. However, we also tend with customers by helping them with their dog's licenses, answering questions they may have about our dogs or introducing them to potential new additions to their home. We don't get as much time as we would like to give everyone the attention they need to correct their behaviors. If you would like to assist us in this endeavor, we would greatly appreciate it! Just come on down to the shelter and inquire about training. We will provide all the tools you would need and we will show you the commands we use for our dogs. So come on down today!
